The drawings by Marcel van Campen convey his thoughts on topics such as ports, sailors, cars, motels, astronauts in space, clowns and circuses. The spatial representation in his drawings is both immense and diffuse. Man is but a minor player in the world that he encounters in his various roles. It is easy to get lost and the man is always looking and searching. His drawing-techniques and the choice of materials he chooses in order to convey his ideas appeal to the temptation of the senses man encounters on his path, beautiful colors, soft and warm from one wavelength to another. The thick paper absorbs the colors and the colors have no boundaries for the actor in the drawing or the eyes of the beholder.
